Hello my fellow Shipgeeks!!
As I am sure you have noticed, there have been no updates here for about a month. I am sorry about that. My computer has recently decided that it no longer wants to be connected to the Internet (cutting me off from my blog), and despite my computer genius friend's best efforts it is still not working. I can get to the file with my blog articles but I cannot post them on here without no Internet connection. I am hoping to get this fixed soon....
Anyways, despite my lack of articles the shipgeek world never rests. Here's a little of whats happened in the last month since I wrote (at least some of the highlights)...
-Carnival Magic is just about finished and will be delivered to Carnival very soon. Carnival Senior Cruise Director, John Heald, will be onboard for her naming ceremony and maiden voyage. (see )
-NCL's Norwegian Epic scored a passing but relatively bad grade (89 points) on a recent health inspection. Most ships consistently score with well over 95 points or even a 100 (infact Epic's last inpection scored in that range) so even though this inpection passes, it still comes as a surprise to NCL. The good news is that NCL has already started working on fixing any problems onboard.
-Disney Cruise Lines announced that in 2012 they will be sailing from 3 new ports, New York, Galveston and Seattle.
-Princess Cruises' Grand Princess has gone into dry dock for a very extensive renovation and overhall. There will be new facilities and the iconic Skywalkers Lounge (the shopping cart handle) will be removed. The work can be viewed at .
-Cunard is still (as they will always be) the greatest of all the lines!
Ok, there should be more soon...if I can get my computer working again!
PS. Today, April 23, is my 21th birthday! I thought you, my fellow shipgeeks, might like to know what I got...well........
IT'S A CUNARD HOUSE FLAG!!!!!!!!!!!
