First of all....

Hey to anyone who actually might be reading this (anyone??......*silence…..). Ok anyway hello to nobody! If you were there reading this blog you might be wondering why it has been so long since I last wrote. You, if you were there, might have figured I simply vanished off the face of the earth…or at least the blogosphere, or maybe you would have thought I died or just simply gave up on the blog after only a few post. Let me now take the time to assure you (if you were there that is) that none of that is true. I am here on the planet and the blogosphere, I have not died and I have not given up on this blog. As any reader here, if there were any, I am writing here right now. The blog is alive!

So anyway…I am sorry I have not written in so long. Honestly I just have not had the time recently. A couple of months ago I got a job at an engineering firm! Unfortunately it has absolutely nothing to do with ships….its a geotechnical engineering firm…. (for you who do not know what that means, it means I work with dirt and holes and generally anything that has to do with soils). I have literally hit rock bottom! :D Well despite it not having anything to do with ships it actually is pretty interesting and eventually can help me toward my goal of working in cruise ship design and operation!

“But Mark! This has nothing to do with ships you ninny! Why are you talking about dirt?! Talk about ships already!” I can hear you saying (…well not really…but I imagine this is what anyone reading this might be thinking..), well first of all, we in the honorable field of geotechnical engineering would prefer if you would call it “soil” not dirt, thank you very much! Secondly I am telling you this so you know what has been taking up my time as of late, my job, that’s what!

So now what? Well, it is my hope that I will be able to continue this blog, posting at least a couple of this per week if possible. I have also been thinking of starting up a website and taking this thing to the next level but I am not sure yet. We will see! Hopefully I can get some readers!!
